Welcome to the OFFICIAL Grand National Aerocoupe web page. Through my searching on the internet, no other Grand National Aerocoupe exists on the World Wide Web! This is a one-of-a-kind conversion to an actual 1987 Grand National. It's not a clone...it's a GENUINE VIN 7 Grand National. No other Regal would have worked without it being labeled as a clone. The window doesn't make the car look better IMO, but it's definitely a conversation piece anywhere you go!The Grand National Aerocoupe project was something I always wanted to perform. In 1990, I bought a Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe and I liked the attention the car received when cruising around. After I bought my first GN, I often wondered if the rear window would fit. I actually owned both a MCSS Aerocoupe and a GN at the same time. That's when I done some measurments and it made me think the swap could be done. It wasn't until 2008 that I stumbled upon a 87 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe in the "You-Pull-It" salvage yard with everything I needed to do a conversion! I couldn't leave the yard without buying all the stuff. I was armed with a minimal amount of tools but I got what I needed. I bought everything for $75...that's right 75 dollars! So, here it is...a thought from the past that being executed today. This 1987 Grand National Aerocoupe project is not yet finished! |
